MATB is a brand design studio in Bristol dedicated to upgrading health, beauty & wellness brands already experiencing demand, from the ‘early days’ DIY logo to a polished, results-driven visual identity.

Client transformations include:- viral TikToks leading to an 85% increase in online sales, collaborations with well established & aligned brands, endorsed & published by globally famous industry leaders, sold on Amazon and in John Lewis, and featured in lifestyle media including; SheerLuxe, You Magazine, Stylist Magazine, OK Magazine, Woman's Own & Now Magazine.

SASANA

My client Sarah had huge success with a custom denim & leather festival jacket brand prior to the pandemic - her designs were worn by Rita Ora, Jo Wiley & other celebs. But a big life-event left her feeling unaligned with what she was doing, and she yearned for something more authentic to the spiritually deeper person she’d evolved into. She couldn’t ignore her deep-seated passion to establish a successful London-made brand, one producing small runs of highest-quality apparel made as sustainably as possible. This time she uses all-natural, high-frequency fabrics such as ramie (made from nettles) organic cotton, linen & hemp - which have a positive effect on the human body.

She cares deeply about building a brand that has a fundamentally positive impact on individual’s health & well-being, which in turn uplifts communities.

And so, SASANA was born.

We worked together to re-name & re-position the brand and then designed an elevated visual identity befitting of her products. Since launching she has collaborated with already well-established London brands, attracted attention from big-name influencers and has been endorsed & featured by global wellness industry leader, Liz Earle.

TRUTH IS…

My client came to me with the best kind of impatience - they have products which are seriously helping a LOT of people with skin complaints, but they have a lot of products, and many are totally unique. Their customers were getting confused by all the different product names and the idea behind, and purpose of their lotion bars.

Together we developed a super clear & consistent way to deliver their message for this family-run business with years of expertise and proven results in healing skin complaints.

We then took the messaging to create a flexible visual identity to help differentiate their product packaging - and will allow for future growth & product diversification too.

On launching with the new branding they went viral on TikTok almost immediately, and experienced an increase in online sales of over 85% based on their previous best month. They are currently struggling to keep up with orders and label production is in over-drive!

OOJAS

This client came to us asking for help with her fresh & all-natural juice company, which is based on her ancestral Ayurvedic wisdom & infused with motherly love of the founder (mum of two), Ashita Kaur-Patil.

When we met, they were called ‘Back2Roots’ and had a home-made logo - but demand was increasing at the markets they’d been attending, and they knew it was the right time to do things properly & up-level to allow the brand to achieve it’s goals.

We started by re-naming the brand to OOJAS (which came from OJAS - the Sanskrit term referring to a subtle, vital life force or the "essence of vitality" within the body, representing a refined energy that promotes strength, immunity, and mental clarity). The cheeky little ‘OO’ bringing in the fun & playfulness which is what the brand’s personality is all about.

The branding required a blend of premium & playful - all their products are fresh, natural & delicious (so not cheap!) but they want to connect with as many consumers as possible, helping push them towards healthier diet choices.

The brand is now on it’s mission to launch a subscription model for the juices, and aims to develop meal recipes too, alongside an educational cooking YouTube channel.

You don't need a design degree when you learned your craft working with some of the biggest global lifestyle brands out there (Moët & Chandon, Land Rover, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Burt's Bees, Marc Jacobs, Starbucks, Sony Pictures, British Tennis). I lived and breathed the principles of flexible, emotive, luxury brand design in real-time, on real ‘physical’ brand experience projects, with the real big players.
